The name of the structure was changed to the Nguyen Hoang Bridge in 1945. The next two wars, in 1946 and 1968, caused damage to the bridge.

Since 1975, the name Trang Tien Bridge has gained popularity. Trang Tien refers to a location where coins are produced.

Because the bridge was near a coin-minting facility, its name has gained popularity among Hue residents.

In 1991, the renovation of the Trang Tien Bridge Hue was carried out. In 2002, a lighting system was installed, which makes the scenery of the bridge sparkle in the evening.
